The largest blockhouse on the Rideau Canal, built in 1832 as a defensive fortification. A National Historic Site of Canada, now operating as a museum. Part of the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. At approximately 15.5 square metres, large enough to accommodate 50 troops.
